Edward Parham

Director of Public Relations/Senior Copywriter

Edward is responsible for advising Rueckert Advertising's clients on all public relations matters, including counseling, targeted communications activities, public affairs, crisis management and special event work.  He also serves as the agency’s primary copywriter.

Among his current clients are the annual Freihofer's Run for Women, for which he was a gold publicity award winner in the prestigious MarCom International Creative Awards and was featured in PR Week.  Other clients include the Higher Education Services Corporation, NYS Energy Research & Development Authority, NYS Public Service Commission, NYS Broadcasters Association, First Columbia, IGRT, Senior Whole Health, Lake George Forum, Lake George Elvis Festival, Wingate-by-Wyndham Lake George, Epilepsy Foundation of NENY,  Capital Bank, and Capital District Youth for Christ.

Before joining the agency in 1998, Edward served as director of community relations for the American Lung Association of Central New York. Prior to that, he was director of public relations for Major League Soccer's bid committee in Boston, and assistant press officer for World Cup USA 1994/Boston venue, where he provided media relations support for hundreds of international media outlets.

A native of England, Edward began his writing career as a newspaper reporter and has had articles published in a variety of publications, including The Christian Science Monitor, the Syracuse Herald-Journal, and the Watertown Daily Times (N.Y.). He later served as staff writer at The College of Saint Rose, where he researched, wrote and edited articles for award-winning magazines, annual reports, newsletters, speeches and various recruitment publications.  Edward has also written for St. Lawrence University’s Communications Office.

He is a graduate of St. Lawrence University and holds a master's degree in mass communication from Boston University. Edward is active with the American Marketing Association (NY Capital Region Chapter) and a former member of the board of directors of the Public Relations Society of America Capital Region Chapter.
