Hudson-Fulton-Champlain Quadricentennial Commission

Overview

We recently designed a website, www.exploreny400.com, for the Hudson-Fulton-Champlain Quadricentennial Commission's commemoration of three landmark passages in New York State history. The 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's exploration of the Hudson River, Samuel de Champlain's expedition to Lake Champlain 400 years ago, and Robert Fulton's maiden steamship journey in 1807 will all be celebrated in 2009 with events along a corridor spanning from New York City to the Québec border.

The website gives visitors an opportunity to learn about these historic figures and conveys information on the Commission's plans and ideas for the commemoration. The site will also solicit the public's ideas on how they would like to participate and what they would like to see happen in 2009 and beyond.
