When IPLogic, a rapidly emerging network technology leader based in Albany, decided to acquire TR Communications, Buffalo's 30-year veteran of voice communications solutions, it turned to Rueckert Advertising & Public Relations.
We worked closely with both companies to prepare extensive press materials, talking points and visuals for the official launch press conference in Latham, which included presentations from New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi and State Senate Majority Leader Joseph L. Bruno.
Since the new company will operate with corporate headquarters in Albany and six regional offices in Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse, N.Y., Pittsburgh and Erie, Pa., and Morgantown, W. Va., we also coordinated media coverage in each market focusing on the fact that IPLogic expects to add up to 100 jobs over the next three to five years.
Media attention surrounding the acquisition was extensive. Articles ran in daily papers and business publications in Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Albany. Stories also ran on outlets including, MSNBC, News 10 Now (Syracuse), WRGB (Albany), WTEN (Albany), WBEN (Buffalo), WHAM (Rochester).
Announcement of the merger has already brought in new revenue, and company officials expect that 2006 earnings could ring in at more than $40 million.
