Rueckert Advertising named finalist for AMA's Annual Mark of Excellence Awards:

Honors to be handed out at Oct. 4 Awards dinner
at Albany Marriott

Rueckert Advertising & Public Relations LLC, one of the Capital Region's leading full-service marketing communications firms, has been named a regional finalist in the 2006 Mark of Excellence Awards sponsored by the Capital Region Chapter of the American Marketing Association. Honors will be handed out Wednesday, Oct. 4 at the Albany Marriott on Wolf Road.

The agency was tapped for its statewide marketing campaign promoting Green Power — renewable energy generated from wind, sun and water — to individuals and businesses on behalf of the NYS Public Service Commission and NYSERDA.

The campaign included a television commercial featuring Gov. Pataki, outdoor and transit advertising, radio commercials, news/traffic/weather sponsorships, public service announcements, trade show booths, banners, magnets, brochure displays, advertorials, and press releases and PSA slicks for statewide newspaper placement. A call center was also established to handle an anticipated increased volume of calls generated by the campaign.

As a result of the marketing effort, Green Power awareness climbed by 20 percent in Upstate New York and 11.1 percent downstate. Before the campaign was launched, the call center was receiving five to 20 calls per week. At the height of the campaign, call volume skyrocketed to 175 calls per week.

This year's nomination is the third time in four years Rueckert Advertising has been honored in the Mark of Excellence Awards, in which judges from around the nation recognize highly effective marketing campaigns and initiatives from all-sized companies, agencies, organizations and educational institutions within the Capital Region.

In 2003, Rueckert Advertising's marketing and publicity work for the Avila retirement community was selected as the competition's overall winner, while the agency's public relations efforts on behalf of the 25th annual Freihofer's Run for Women was named a finalist in 2004.
