Rueckert Advertising wins 2005 MarCom Creative Award for Freihofer's Run for Women publicity work
Rueckert Advertising & Public Relations' publicity work on behalf of the 26th annual Freihofer's Run for Women has earned a gold award in the 2005 MarCom Creative Awards, an international competition recognizing outstanding achievement in the field of marketing and communications.
The agency, which has provided public relations and advertising support for the 5 km women's only race for the past decade, generated a record amount of media coverage for the event. More than 41 million audience impressions from 249 pre- and post-event print and electronic stories helped attract one of the largest fields in event's history to the Madison Avenue starting line.
Stories about the racers, both elite and recreational, were featured in Associated Press coverage that appeared in daily newspapers from Fort Lauderdale, FL to San Diego, CA. Race television highlights were distributed to 45 countries on Marathons+, and were also featured extensively on Running, which is aired on the Yes Network.
The MarCom gold awards, which are presented to entries judged to have "exceeded the high standards of the industry," were awarded to approximately 16 percent of the 4,613 entries that came from throughout the United States and several foreign countries.
Entries, which were judged by industry professionals, came from advertising and public relations agencies, corporate communications departments, educational institutions, government entities, designers, writers, video production professionals, broadcast and cable operations, and other businesses and individuals throughout the world.
