Rueckert Advertising wins 2005 MarCom Creative Award for Renewable Energy Campaign

Statewide "Green Power" Campaign Chosen from 4,613 Entries

Rueckert Advertising & Public Relations LLC, one of the Capital Region's leading full-service marketing communications agencies, was recently honored with a gold award in the 2005 MarCom Creative Awards -- an international competition recognizing outstanding achievement in the field of marketing and communications.

The marketing campaign, which was entered in the competition's public service category, was designed to convey that New York's future is in everyone's hands. Toward that end, the agency used an image of a hand superimposed on a monochromatic image of a natural scene and magically turning the scene into full living color.

This hand motif was the centerpiece of a television commercial featuring Governor Pataki urging viewers to "Choose Green Power and help keep our air clean. Because New York's future is in all of our hands." It was also featured in outdoor and transit advertising, radio commercials, news/traffic/weather sponsorships, PSAs, trade show booths, banners, magnets, brochure displays, advertorials and ad slicks for statewide newspaper placement.

Before the campaign was launched, the Green Power call center received five to 20 calls per week. At the height of the campaign, call volume skyrocketed to an average of 175 calls a week.

The 2005 MarCom Creative Awards drew 4,613 entries from throughout the United States and several foreign countries. Entries, which were judged by industry professionals, came from advertising and public relations agencies, corporate communications departments, educational institutions, government entities, designers, writers, video production professionals, broadcast and cable operations, and other businesses and individuals throughout the world.
