Rueckert Advertising PR director serves as panelist at YMCA professional development conference
Edward Parham of Clifton Park, director of public relations at Rueckert Advertising & Public Relations, recently served as a panelist at the Association of YMCA Professionals (AYP) Conference held March 9-11 at The Desmond Hotel & Conference Center.
During the panel discussion, entitled "Working with the Media," Parham provided ideas to 220 AYP members from throughout the Northeast about how they can use public relations strategies to more effectively tell their stories, promote their mission, and respond to unfolding events.
He was joined on the workshop panel – one of 15 offered during the three-day event on topics ranging from facility design to financial leadership – by Chris Brunner, news director at Capital News 9; David P. Monti, senior vice president at the Boston-based RDW Group, Inc.; and, Matt Visscher, news reporter at WROW-590AM.
Founded in 1871, AYP is the national professional society for YMCA staff members, and is designed to stimulate professional growth; foster high standards of competence; enrich personal lives; provide fellowship, support and resources; serve as an advocate on issues of concern; promote Christian values; and, encourage career commitment to the YMCA. The YMCA has held a conference in Albany for the past 30 years.
